The West Needs to Protect Taiwan

Politics

China is currently the largest manufacturer of commercial goods in the world. Take a walk to your local big-box department store and pick up a mug or a chair or a vacuum cleaner. Turn it over and look at that legally-mandated “MADE IN” label - the country “CHINA” probably follows.

China’s status as the leading exporter in the global trade offers very strong influence along with a quite sizable leeway for its more questionable actions in international relations.

Everywhere China makes a move geopolitically, the world merely watches. Remember “Free Hong Kong”? That time China enforced arrest powers on a supposedly-free entity? Nothing was done to stop them by the West. Those protesters were cut down like dogs - stuck into unmarked vans and “disappeared” by the government. No Twitter retweet could have saved them from their fate. This scenario can be seen again with the ongoing “reeducation” of the Uyghur population in Xinjiang. The West whines and complains from the safety of their homes on social media, but no substantial actions have been made. Virtue signaling will never force change to happen.

The complacent West we find ourselves living in must change. The greatest nation is the world cannot be a bystander when China begins a “special operation” to “liberate” Taiwan of dissenters. Westerners from America to Europe must prepare themselves and harden their hearts toward the Red Menace. When the time comes, the West must hold true to its commitments and stand side-by-side with their Taiwanese allies. If the West falters, freedom is all but vanquished.
